In addition to the hospitality and privacy of their facilities, Sumaqtikaq offers many ways to enjoy the best holiday activities and tours that will make your stay in the Caribbean quite an adventure

We suggest activities such as:
Hiking trails of the Wildlife Refuge Gandoca Manzanillo, swim and enjoy the warm waters of the sea. You can also go fishing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, canopy and practice sports such as jogging and biking. Also at nearby beaches and at certain times you may enjoy practicing surfing. Boat trips crossing the long stretch of the coast are also available. Also, you can do some yoga.
We offer guided tours to hiking trails along the coast to different points like Punta Manzanillo, the cave, waterfalls, etc.

Mountain Bike Tours
The visitors will enjoy biking through the Caribbean Talamanca Indigenous Communities and even beyond our borders. The tour offers different packages and routes and they vary according to the visitors’ interest. Each person must bring their own bicycle and personal gear.

Tours en Mountain Bike

Caribbean Mountain bike Adventure 
Touring different parts of the Caribbean coast and indigenous communities in Talamanca: along the coast, crossing rivers, ancient bridges, trails, paved roads, beaches and mountains. Enjoy the lush nature: bird watching, snakes, monkeys, butterflies, sloths, etc., tall trees, flowers and vegetation of the area. Visit the indigenous reserves of Talamanca.  These tours are available for all levels and ages.
Flat trips, short distances: Manzanillo, Punta Uva, Puerto Viejo,

Flatlands and mountain tours: Manzanillo, Punta Uva, Paradise, Margaret, Cocles. 
Level: Intermediate.

Mountain bike beyond our borders, to Bocas del Toro, Panama:
Level: Intermediate and advanced
Distance: 74 Km, mostly flat.
- 4 Days from Manzanillo / 3 Nights staying one night and 2 in Bocas del Toro, back to Manzanillo.
- 3 Days two nights, one in Manzanillo and Bocas.  A great adventure!!
- 5 Days 4 nights. This includes two boat tours to the different islands of the archipelago of Bocas del Toro, where you can perform other activities such as snorkeling, diving, etc.
In the tours, lodging, breakfast, boat transportation, transfer of personal items is included. 
Passport is a must.


Walk in the Refuge 
With an experienced local guide, you can do a nice and interesting walk in the secondary and primary forest, in addition to its colorful feathers there are several species of birds within the 385 hectares that of the shelter. Here you’ll be able to watch hummingbirds, owls, flycatchers, toucans, tanagers and hawks among others. Besides many mammals and other animals native from the place as white-faced monkeys and howler monkeys, sloths; poison dart frogs can be possible to observe. Furthermore, the visitors can observe the giant trees inhabited by mosses, orchids, bromeliads and lianas

Walk to Punta Mona and return by boat:
Through the trails of the Refuge the visitors will tour along the coast where they will appreciate the scenic beauty of the Caribbean, having the opportunity to go down to small but stunning white sand beaches separated each other by fabulous fossil reef formations and reefs. The more you explore, you will enjoy all the beauty that offers the tropical rainforest and its rich flora and fauna. The walk will be accompanied by a local naturalist guiding your experience, and he will put you in touch with all the species from the smaller -but equally important- to the most visible, that makes this wonderful natural setting of this great area. Additionally, visitor will be able to share the knowledge of natural medicine used by the inhabitants of the region and the Afro-Caribbean cultural wealth. In the boat trip back to Manzanillo, you will have the opportunity to observe the  large swath of natural beauty that make small beaches, coral cliffs and the green of the rainforest. A must: Hiking shoes, light clothes, cool, long pants, insect repellent and water

Dolphins tour:
On this tour you will be amazed by the beauty found in Manzanillo. During the boat trip the visitors can see the coast drawn with a long line of greenery made up of large coconut trees, almond trees, sea grapes, and the waves breaking on the cliffs. Manzanillo has 4,436 hectares of protected marine area, home to a variety of animals, including three species of dolphins: bottlenose dolphin the most common, the Tucuxi  a smaller dolphin, and the Atlantic spotted dolphins.  These dolphins can be seen close to the boat.  In some places as directed by the guide, you can jump into the sea and enjoy the warm waters and deep ocean.
The trip includes: Fruit and drinks.

Jaguar Rescue Center
The Jaguar Rescue Center is a center that rehabilitates injured or abused animals and reintroduced into the wild in protected areas. There are different animals like monkeys, sloths, jungle cats, venomous snakes and raccoons. The guide will explain their different customs anger and you can have contact with some of them. Special requirement: walking shoes or sneakers, rain gear, sunscreen, camera, water and snacks.
The trip includes: transportation, entrance and guide.

CANOPY in the Caribbean
Enjoy an extraordinary adventure you sliding through the richness and diversity that has the Caribbean jungle. The canopy has 9 aerial platforms and 14 platforms on land, with a total of 2560 meters of cable. In addition, can add you cable of superman.
Approximate time: 4 hours.
Required: closed shoes, pants long and it is suggested that you don’t forget the camera.

Dip in the waterfall of Volio
To 2 kilometers the Bribri community, lies the Volio waterfall, with a height of 12 meters interned in the Talamanca mountains, where you can take a refreshing dip. During the long walk toward the waterfall may get wet shoes. Why we caution that they put proper shoes or a pair extra to change later

Turtles Tour
This tour offers one of the most incredible experiences; to observe the birth of the leatherback turtle, the largest turtle in the world. This unique event takes place during the months of March to July, along Punta Mona and Gondoca beaches. The tour takes place during the night with an experienced local guide. Transfer to Gandoca beach can be done by sea boarding a boat or by land in a car. The guide will provide important information about the natural history of this species, which is in danger of extinction. A must is to wear dark clothes, light and fresh, comfortable shoes, long pants, insect repellent, and bottled water.

Pesca Deportiva

Sport Fishing
This tour takes place within the area of Manzanillo and Gandoca, with local fishermen in boats with outboard engines. They use live bait, deep sea fishing with dead bait or trolling. You can even do some snorkeling. This tour includes a snack with fruit, bottled water and some snacks. Minimum: 2 people

Snorkeling Tour
The tour can be done from the beach with a local guide, using the Manzanillo reef that  is within walking distance, entering for a tour where you will find a wide variety of species of coral, tropical fish such as angelfish and parrot. Besides, there you’ll spot small caves where you will find lobsters. Also, the trip will be by boat and the gust can visit other places.

Observación de Aves Bird watching
In the area, approximately 400 species of birds like toucans, tanagers, hawks, herons, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, among others have been identified. The tour is guided by local people specialized in birds. Many species can be observed, some of them are not seen elsewhere. This is a fact that draws the experts’ attention in this field. This involves identifying species by their power and their song, supported by books of birds of Costa Rica.
Duration: 3 to 4 hours. Starting in the early hours of the morning  at about 5 a.m.

Visiting  Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Panama
Bocas del Toro is a beautiful Panamanian Caribbean Province it is formed by an archipelago of nine islands, 52 keys and 200 islets. • Two tours through the Archipelago: • 1:  A boat ride through the most important islands of the archipelago. During the tour you will see dolphins.  In Coral Cay you can snorkel. Besides its beaches you can also visit the Red Frog in Bastimentos Island, a facility where many poisonous red frogs can be seen.
• Duration of the tour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2: A trip to Bocas del Drago land where the visitors can have contact with alien starfish and pristine beaches. Here you can enjoy authentic Caribbean food and buy handicrafts made by the Indians.
